About CCSLS

Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (“CCSLS”) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free civil legal services to Contra Costa County residents who are 60 or older.

We also provide services county-wide through our free wills program (for simple wills) and legal consultation program at senior centers within Contra Costa County. For location and contact numbers, click on “Senior Centers” above.

Beginning in early 2009, we will begin operating a Senior Self Help Clinic in coordination with the Contra Costa Superior Court. We will be available on a weekly basis to advise seniors who are representing themselves in court. Check the court’s website for further information.

CONTRA COSTA SENIOR LEGAL SERVICES RECEIVES CY PRES AWARD

CCSLS was recently selected as the recipient of a Cy Pres award. Funds for these awards come from class action suits and other court proceedings when the entire amount of the judgment cannot be distributed to the intended class members or beneficiaries.

The remaining funds are distributed to a charitable or nonprofit organization approved by the court.

CCSLS is grateful to Bramson, Plutzik, Mahler & Birkhauser and the Mills Law Firm for designating us as a recipient, and will use the award to further our mission of providing high quality legal services to Contra Costa County seniors.
