About CCSLS

Contra Costa Senior Legal Services (“CCSLS”) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free civil legal services to Contra Costa County residents who are 60 years of age or older.  We offer a wide array of services throughout the county. 

PLEASE NOTE:  CCSLS WILL HAVE LIMITED HOURS DURING THE THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.  WE WILL BE CLOSED ON NOV. 23, NOV. 24, DEC. 25 AND JAN. 1.  WE WILL HAVE RESTRICTED ACCESS FROM DEC. 26-29 (PHONE ACCESS ONLY FROM 1-4 P.M.)  NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS WILL RESUME JAN. 2.  INTAKES ARE 9-NOON AND 1-3 P.M. MON.-THURS AND 9-1 P.M. ON FRIDAY.

Clients can speak with an attorney at our office conveniently located adjacent to the Concord BART station.  All intakes are done by telephone or in person.  CCSLS does not respond to email requests for legal services.

CCSLS LAUNCHES NEW PROGRAMS

CCSLS is an integral participant in the new Elder Abuse Prevention Project launched earlier this year.  More information can be found at www.cocoelderjustice.org 

CCSLS PARTNERS WITH OMBUDSMAN SERVICES TO AID LONG-TERM CARE RESIDENTS IN EAST CONTRA COSTA

CCSLS and Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa are in the early stages of a new pilot sponsored by John Muir/Mt. Diablo Community Health Fund which will benefit residents of long-term care in Far East County.  Look for more information here in early 2018.

CCSLS OFFERS SPEAKERS

Staff is available to speak to seniors about topics such as Preventing Financial Elder Abuse, Advance Health Care Directives and Powers of Attorney.  We can also talk about the free services available to seniors at CCSLS.  Please call (925) 609-7900 to learn more.

 
VISIT OUR DROP-IN SELF HELP CLINIC IN MARTINEZ

CCSLS operates a drop-in clinic for seniors in coordination with the Contra Costa Superior Court.  The Clinic is open every Tuesday from 9 a.m. until noon at the Family Law Building in Martinez (751 Pine Street, 2nd Floor Conference Room, Martinez, CA)  Seniors who are representing themselves in court can use this free service for assistance with elder abuse restraining orders, conservatorships of the person, landlord/tenant cases, as well as with Small Claims matters.


CONSULT AN ATTORNEY, ADVANCE HEALTH CARE DIRECTIVES AND WILLS CLINICS

CCSLS coordinates with many local senior centers to offer consultations with lawyers, preparation of Advance Health Care Directives and assistance with simple wills.  You may view the current programs here (or by clicking on the "Resources" tab, above).
